To celebrate our lovely client Sue’s birthday, Helping Hands Dorchester arranged a very special treat: a glider flight with Purbeck Flying Club!
Taking to the skies from Eyres Airfield, Sue was in the very capable hands of Nick, her pilot, and joining in the adventure was Nick’s friend Ray, who took to the skies in his own aircraft to capture some wonderful footage of Sue’s experience.
And what an experience it was!
Sue described the feeling as “being like an eagle”, and when she landed, she was absolutely elated! She was so overwhelmed by the experience that she could hardly find the words to begin describing it. Sometimes, the most incredible moments leave us speechless.
Back on the ground, we enjoyed cake and coffee with Sue and her family in the flying club lounge, sharing the excitement and hearing all about her adventure. We also presented Sue with a lovely mug bearing the flying club’s logo, a little memento of a very special day.
A HUGE thank you to Nick for being such a reassuring pilot, and to Ray for capturing the magic from the air. We are so grateful to Purbeck Flying Club for helping make this experience so memorable.
At Helping Hands Dorchester, we believe companionship is about so much more than simply being there. It’s about creating opportunities, making memories, encouraging adventure and helping people continue to enjoy the things that make life special.
We are incredibly proud to have organised Sue’s Flight of Dreams and to have been part of such a memorable birthday celebration.
Helping Hands Dorchester: making a difference, one experience at a time.
